History

In the Fall of 2015, Grace Fellowship Chilliwack conducted its first public services in the basement of a home in Chilliwack. After several meetings, the small congregation determined that they would plant a church based upon Scripture and the basics of the Christian faith. By the winter of that year, the group had grown large enough to move out of a home and into the current facility at 46024 Riverside Drive.

At the same time, the people realized that they would need help in the church planting process. They reached out to Grace Advance, a ministry of Grace Community Church in Los Angeles, CA that specializes in church plants and revitalization (www.graceadvance.org). Over the course of the next year, the Grace Advance team made several trips to provide encouragement and guidance in the planting process. In the meantime, Grace Fellowship Chilliwack was also officially incorporated and continued to grow, as they established a Worship Team, Outreach Team, and Children’s and Nursery Ministries.

In the spring of 2016, GFC also began searching for a Teaching Pastor. After looking at several candidates, they asked Jeremy Cagle to fill the position. Jeremy was serving as an Associate Pastor in the U.S. at the time. After sampling his sermons and written materials, and spending a weekend with Jeremy and his wife, the people agreed that he would be a good fit for their pulpit. They called him on October 5, 2016. Jeremy accepted, and was installed on March 12, 2017.

Since then, GFC has seen its first baptisms, welcomed its first members, and held its first camps. It has also hired its first Administrative Assistant and started a Care & Discipleship ministry, which allows church members to meet together weekly in small groups for Bible study and prayer. It has also continued to grow in its Men’s and Women’s Ministries as well as in its Nursery, Children and Youth Programs.

Most importantly, GFC continues its devotion to Christ, Scripture and the basics of the Christian faith. We accept the Bible in its entirety as the inspired Word of God and strive to follow its teachings in all that we do. We hold a strong commitment to building up believers through regular preaching, teaching, fellowship, prayer and service. In addition, we believe in actively serving our community and passionately pursuing the Lord’s mission to the world.
