Join us Sunday, August 26 as we celebrate baptisms and kick-start the Fall Season for our church! In honour of that, we will also be having a special Vision Sunday to look at our vision statement during the sermon hour. The opening paragraph of that statement:

“John 1:16-17 says, “For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.” Our vision is to proclaim that “grace upon grace” to Chilliwack, British Columbia and to the ends of the earth. At Grace Fellowship Chilliwack (GFC), we believe that salvation is all of grace and not of works. We believe it is something that God alone accomplishes in our lives, and nothing we contribute to ourselves. We believe it is unmerited favour, where Jesus earns the Father’s approval and, in His mercy, gives us the benefits of that through His shed blood on the cross and victorious resurrection from the tomb. Since we have received all of this, it is our vision as a church to proclaim grace upon grace in several ways:

We proclaim grace upon grace through the Bible…
We proclaim grace upon grace through worship…
We proclaim grace upon grace through evangelism…
We proclaim grace upon grace through service…
We proclaim grace upon grace through counselling…
We proclaim grace upon grace through leadership…
We proclaim grace upon grace through equipping the saints…

The full vision statement is available here.

This Sunday, we are taking a look at the third point together: “We proclaim grace upon grace through evangelism.” During the service, we will talk about what evangelism looks like for us as a church and how we plan on evangelizing our community for Christ. We will also hear the testimonies of some of our people during their baptisms who have already been evangelized and saved through the preaching of the Gospel.

As part of that service, we will also be talking about some upcoming calendar events and the beginning of our Care & Discipleship Groups for the Fall. It should be a full and exciting day! We want to be busy serving the Lord as David writes in Psalm 84:1: “For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside.” We pray that the Lord is blessing you this year as you draw close to Him and study His Word.
