Children's Ministry

Our Vision

To see children become faithful followers of the Lord Jesus Christ and vibrant members of His church, by His grace.

Our Mission

To glorify God by evangelizing and discipling children and by equipping parents and church members to teach them the Word of God.

Our Programs

We seek to provide a safe and nurturing place for children while their parents worship. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions, suggestions or comments.

Nursery:

Our nursery is available for newborns through age two and a half. Workers are present in the nursery fifteen minutes before the service starts. You can bring your child any time before or during the service. When you drop off your child the first time, you will be asked to fill out a registration form with some basic information. Each time you and your child will be given matching numbered tags. Keep your tag and bring it back in order to pick up your child. You can leave your cell phone number as well, and we can contact you by text if your child needs you during the service. The nursery is located downstairs: turn right, go to the end of the hall, and it is the room on the left side.

Sunday School:

We offer Sunday school classes for children ages two through grade 6. They are invited to enjoy worship with their parents before the sermon. After singing and prayer, children are dismissed to go to their Sunday school classes. There is an interlude of music to give parents an opportunity to take their children out without missing any of the sermon. Children are always welcome to stay in the service with their parents if they choose.

For ages two through five, there is a station with matching numbered tags in the foyer.  Parents should take a set of tags and attach one to the child and the matching number to themselves before bringing children down to Sunday school. Parents should accompany their children to their class each week, and make sure they are signed-in by the teacher. The first time you visit, you will be asked to fill out a registration form. Following the service, bring your matching tag when you pick up your child. (If a tag is lost, a driver’s license can be used as ID to pick up your child.

Children in grades 1-6 should be taken to their class by a parent or guardian the first time they visit. (The same registration form is required.) Next time, children are welcome to walk to class themselves when they are dismissed from the service. Following their class, they will be dismissed independently, unless you have requested otherwise.

We offer the following Sunday school classes:

  • Toddlers (ages two through three) meet downstairs: turn right, first door on the left.
  • Preschool & Kindergarten (ages four through five) meet downstairs: turn right, straight at the end of the hall.
  • Grades 1-3 meet in the gymnasium building: across the parking lot in the fireside room (located between the kitchen and washrooms). A teacher will meet them in the church entryway and escort them to class.
  • Grades 4-6 meet downstairs: turn right, second door on the right.

Our teachers are all volunteers who serve for a month at a time to offer continuity to the class. They are carefully selected for character and maturity, and they have completed criminal record checks and ministry training.

For all of our classes we use the Generations of Grace curriculum. "Generations of Grace is designed to magnify God by studying His character in the pages of Scripture. We can better understand who He is and how we are to respond to Him by studying how His redemptive plan has unfolded and how He has used men to accomplish His purposes. Over a three-year period, this curriculum covers the entire narrative of God's redemptive plan." (See https://generationsofgrace.com/pages/about-us).
