Vision Sunday 2018
A man was once asked in a survey: “What are you looking for in a church?” To which he replied: “Red brick.” In other words, he had no idea. He was not sure what to look for in a church.
I think a lot of Christians are like that today. They have no idea what the church is supposed to look like. According to the Pew Research Center, 27 percent of Canadians still consider themselves to be Protestant Christians but there is still a lot of confusion as to what that means and how it plays out in every day life.
To help with that, this Sunday we are going to talk about the Vision Statement of Grace Fellowship Church. The opening sentence says: “Our vision is to proclaim grace upon grace to Chilliwack, BC, and to the ends of the earth.” It goes on to say that we do this in several different areas. We proclaim grace upon grace through the Bible, worship, evangelism, service, counseling, leadership, and equipping the saints. God has saved us through His grace and we want to extend that grace to others this way. He has given us unmerited favor and we want to show it to others in all that we do. If you would like to read more about that, you can read the Vision Statement in full at http://gracefellowshipchilliwack.com/vision.
Due to time, we will not be able to talk about each of these areas on Sunday, but we can talk about the Bible. The Bible is the focus of all we do as a church because it tells us about God’s grace. It shows us what grace looks like, so we are committed to preaching it in our pulpit and teaching it in every aspect of our ministry. So please join us Sunday morning at 9:30 as we talk about that together. Join us as we talk about what we are trying to do as a church and where the Bible will take us in 2018. The Scriptures are not confused as to what the church is supposed to look like. It is crystal clear on that issue. Come learn what it says. We meet at 46024 Riverside Drive in Chilliwack. See you there! – Jeremy Cagle
