A little girl was once asked why Jesus is called the Word of God and she replied, “Because He is all God wanted to say to us.” She was right because Jesus is all that God wanted to say to us. He is all that we need.
To say it another way: Jesus is sufficient. He is enough to defeat any sin, conquer any temptation, and fulfill any spiritual need. We just need to turn to Him and believe. We need to give our lives to Him in faith and repentance and He will take care of us, which is how John begins his Gospel. In 1:14, 16, he writes: “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth . . . For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.”
Would you like to experience the fullness of God today? Would you like to experience His grace? John says that you can do that through Jesus. He says that Jesus can give you all the grace and truth that you need. Do you want to hear a word from the Lord? Do you want to hear God speak to you? John says that you can experience that too through Jesus. He is all God wanted to say to us, and come join us this Sunday morning as we talk about what that means. Join us at 46024 Riverside Drive as we study John 1 and learn that Jesus is enough. We meet at 9:30. See you there! – Jeremy Cagle
